The
Fulbright U.S. Student Program competition for the
2004/2005 academic year opens on May 1, 2003.
Graduating seniors and graduate/professional
students interested in a year's study or research
abroad are urged to consider applying for a Department
of State U.S. Student Fulbright Grant. Only US citizens
are eligible. Completed applications are due by 4:00pm
on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at the Duke University
Center for International Studies, Box 90404, John
Hope Franklin Center, 2204 Erwin Road, Duke University,
Durham, NC 27705.
On-campus interviews will be scheduled
for late September through the middle of October.
Completed applications (application, three letters
of recommendation, plus any required supplemental
materials) must be sent by Duke University to the
Institute of International Education (IIE) for arrival
on October 21, 2003. Students will receive a first
notification of advancement in late January 2004 directly
from IIE. Final grant awards will be announced in
late spring 2004.

An information session on Fulbright
fellowships will be held on Wednesday, September 3,
2003 from 4:00-6:00pm in 240 Franklin Center, 2204
Erwin Road, Duke University. Please note that while
there is no parking available behind the Franklin
Center, visitors can use the lot at Perkins Health
Center across Trent Drive after 4pm on weekdays and
anytime on weekends.
